Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the following SIB course on:

*First Steps with Python in Life Sciences, 1-3 December 2020**.***
<https://www.sib.swiss/training/course/2020-12-python>

<https://www.sib.swiss/training/course/2020-09-python>

Have you ever been stuck with a file format that doesn't precisely
conform to your needs, found yourself doing annoyingly repetitive data
manipulations, or struggled to efficiently manage and explore your data?
Python to the rescue! Python is an open-source and general-purpose
scripting language which runs on all major operating systems.

This 3-days course is addressed to *beginners* who want to become
familiar with writing Python code to accomplish common tasks such as
automated data parsing, basic statistical operations and graphical
representations. For people who are proficient in programming: this
course might be on the slow side for you and an intermediate python
class is recommended (check regularly our upcoming training course
<https://www.sib.swiss/training/upcoming-training-courses>s).

This course will take place in *Lausanne* with rules complying to
COVID-19 situation (distance and hygiene). In the event of new
restrictions from the Swiss Government preventing us from organizing the
course face to face, it will not be cancelled but switched to a virtual
event (only for the registered participants) on the same date.

Further detailed information, prerequisites and application form are
available here <https://www.sib.swiss/training/course/2020-12-python>.
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at
training at sib.swiss.

Best regards,

Gregoire
