This one-day course will take place in *Bern* on *13 May* 2019 and is 
addressed to bioinformaticians and life scientists interested in getting 
familiar with the containerisation technologies in general, and more 
specifically with the usage of Docker. Container technologies are useful 
to enhance software portability and to ensure that research analyses are 
reproducible.

In this course you will learn how to use commands to manipulate 
containers (fetch, execute, write, define volumes, etc..) and the first 
steps towards building your own.
