Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the *Spring School "Bioinformatics and
Population Genomics" *jointly organized by the SIB PhD Training Network
<http://sib.swiss/training/for-sib-phd-students> and the CUSO doctoral
programs StarOmics <http://biologie.cuso.ch/staromics/welcome/> and
Ecology & Evolution <http://biologie.cuso.ch/ecologie-evolution/welcome/>.

This School will take place from *29 May to 2 June 2016* at Hotel Regina
Terme <http://reginaterme.ch/new/index.php/en/> in *Leukerbad*, a
charming village in the Swiss Alps renowned for its thermal baths.

Population Genomics and Bioinformatics share many common interests at
the interface of modern integrative biology, which may generate enormous
quantities of complex data, often through multiple sources. Efficient
and accurate analysis of such data can only be accomplished through
appropriate computational methods.

This Spring School aims to give you access to the state-of-the-art
bioinformatics techniques and the biological questions that population
genomics has prompted. You will learn how to integrate, manage, and
analyse experimental genomics data using advanced bioinformatics tools.
Morning lectures will alternate with afternoon hands-on sessions about
the following topics:
• Ancient DNA and Adaptation
• Evolution of Gene Expression
• Demography

A detailed program as well as registration are available on the
CUSO/Staromics website

We look forward to meeting you at the Spring School!
With kind regards,

Grégoire Rossier, coordinator SIB PhD Training Network
Caroline Betto-Colliard, coordinator doctoral program Ecology & Evolution
Corinne Dentan, coordinator doctoral program StarOmics
