Dear all,

We are pleased to announce a new SIB course entitled:

*"Statistical genetics and statistical genomics"*.

This four-day course, which will be held in Lausanne during the week of
3-6 February 2014, is designed to provide an introduction to various
topics in statistical genetics and statistical genomics, with a special
focus on widely used software and tools developed by researchers at SIB.
We plan to cover the following topics:
- population genetics
- genome-wide association studies
- differential expression analysis of gene expression data obtained by
microarrays or RNAseq
- analysis of ChIP-seq and 4C-seq data
- integration of multiple genome-wide data sets

Participants should bring their own computers with the R statistical
software installed and prior attending the course get familiar with
genetics, the unix command line environment and R.

The course is organized by the Bioinformatics Core Facility (BCF) of the
SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.

Further information and registration are available from
http://edu.isb-sib.ch/course/view.php?id=151
Please note that the number of seats is limited.

Hope to see you there!

For the organizers,
Diana Marek
