Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the SIB workshop entitled:

"Introduction to protein structure visualization and comparison using 
Swiss-PdbViewer ".

This one-day workshop will be held in Lausanne on the 7th of November 2013.
You will learn how to visualize and compare protein structures with 
Swiss-PdbViewer. This practical course will cover the following topics:

  * look at a structure, both globally (as a fold) or in detail (e.g. an
    active site)
  * compare several structures to identify differences
  * identify residues participating in protein-protein interactions
  * understand the limits of energy minimization
  * make a crude model to visualize the result of genetic mutations onto
    a protein structure

Participants should bring a wifi enabled laptop with a working 
installation of SwissPdbViewer (http://spdbv.vital-it.ch/)
