Dear all,
The next seminar in our series of statistics talks for people interested in quantitative methods in biology and medicine will take place on Thursday 12 February 2015 at 11h00 in the Salle Delachaux (Biopôle 2, premier étage, Route de la Corniche 10, Lausanne, M2: Vennes).
The speaker will be Dr. Tarik Yelcin (Institute for Social and Preventive Medicine, previously at the Institute of Health Economics and Management, University of Lausanne) who will speak about Social Welfare Analysis for Ordered Response Data. The presentation will be in French and the slides in English.

Abstract:
A Social Welfare Ordering suited for Ordered Response Data is introduced.
Paretian Probability Transfers and Equalizing Probability Transfers respectively capture society’s preference for Efficiency and Equity. The resulting relation is shown to generate a Complete Lattice over the set of Cumulative Distributions.
A Gamma curve and a Class of Social Welfare Functions are also introduced.
The methodology is illustrated using Anthropometric Health Data.

Hope to see you there!
